Rancho Fantastico is an independent post-production studio founded in Toronto in 2014. The three partners have been working together since the early 2000s, across three companies and two decades, building the kind of trust and shorthand that can't be manufactured on a project timeline.
It's a deliberately small shop. Picture and sound finishing under one roof, with both sides of the process in constant conversation from day one — challenges get caught early, and the people you're talking to at the start are the same people delivering at the end. When projects call for a larger crew, we draw on collaborators we've worked with for years, who work the way we do.
The broadcasters, producers, and agencies Rancho works with tend to stay. Some of those relationships now span decades.

John Carey
Audio Post Supervisor / Mixer
John has always been passionate about story telling and entertainment. From his early years working in live entertainment to his many years in post production, John has a constant focus on the creative. His audio expertise, musical and technical backgrounds are the backbone of an enduring 30 year career in the audio post industry. In 2014 he joined Jasen and Mike as a founding partner of Rancho Fantastico, where his focus on the creative has only deepened.
In recent years, John has expanded his creativity into visuals, becoming an avid photography enthusiast and travel blogger/content creator.

Colourist / Finishing Editor
Jasen's first years in the industry were a full immersion — editing, recording voice overs, motion graphics, mixing audio, finishing, and a humbling brush with live production, which quickly confirmed where his strengths actually lived.
At Rancho, his focus has sharpened toward finishing and colour. He works with FilmLight's Baselight colour tools and brings an editor's eye to the finishing stage. When solutions are needed after picture lock, understanding story and structure turns out to be as useful as any technical skill.
When not in the grade, he can be found nurturing a newly found green thumb with his habanero plants and is, according to Spotify, a Top 0.005% Bee Gees listener. Two facts that probably say more about him than anything above.

With thousands of hours recording, editing, mixing Radio, TV, Film, Documentary, Animation, Network Branding, Corporate, Music and anything you can think of that has audio, Mike continues doing what he loves best into his golden years.
From Studio 306 / Sounds Interchange to Discovery, Deschamps, and co-owner of Wanted / Saucer and now Rancho Fantastico, Mike still digs it. A less than amazing foray into VO with Actra proves that he is best behind the desk and would like to thank all the amazing Voiceover artists he has been lucky to work with over the years who make his job so much easier.
